Employment Services move office to
NEW LOCATION with new name
"The One-Stop"

The One-Stop Career Center in Lebanon announces its new location in the plaza at 145 Cemetary Road (Metts Drive).

Thomas J. Wheatley, Regional Manager, Office of Employment and Training said, "I am happy to announce that we have expanded our employment service office in Lebanon to create a One Stop Career Center. We will now have staff from the Office of Employment and Training, Lincoln Trail Area Development District, Adult Education, and Vocational Rehabilitation under one roof to help with all employment and training needs instead of having to go from place to place."

"This has become reality through the efforts of Judge Hourigan and Fiscal Court, Mayor Gary Crenshaw and the city council as well as support from other local leaders and the employer community. This partnership will only make us stronger as we continue to meet the needs of our customers, and the glue that will hold it all together is local community support. I offer my sincere thanks to all that made this possible."

According to Sherry Johnson, Associate Director, LTADD, "Marion County continues to be very progressive in their efforts to maintain their existing industrial base and its workforce. The fourth Lincoln Trail Career Center opened in Marion County on this month to assist industry and the people of Marion County with their employment, education, and economic development needs. "

"This center would not be possible if it had not been for the efforts and commitment of Judge Dave Hourigan, Mayor Gary Crenshaw and the Marion County Office of Economic Development.  We are extremely pleased to be a part of the center and more importantly, offer quality workforce services to the employers and citizens of Marion County."

Dave Hourigan, Marion County Judge Executive explains, how it is imperative that Marion County makes every effort to attract solid skilled labor for our existing industries. An employment services, supported by city, county and state efforts will greatly enhance our ability to serve both workers and industry. This “One-Stop” Center is just that, a place where a worker can complete an application, a resume, and necessary testing, while an industry can review applications to find employees they need.

Gary Crenshaw, Mayor of the City of Lebanon, says the continued growth and prosperity or our City is dependent upon a strong workforce from which our industry may select its

employees. This Center and the various agencies that reside here will support that idea. It will also help those in our community who may need help in finding jobs or learning skills that will afford them and their families a better quality of life.

The Workforce Investment Act, passed by Congress in 1998, conveniently brings employment and human service agencies together under one roof.
The One-Stop Career Center is a convenient “One-Stop” connection to assist in finding a job, developing a better career or making smart decision about the workforce.
