News From Marion County ATC

The Marion County ATC received a $374,000 grant to purchase new equipment for the Industrial Maintenance program.  Today (4/21/08), we received the first piece of equipment.  It is an injection molding machine.  The MCATC worked closely with TG Ky to identify this piece of equipment as a need for the facility to use for secondary and post-secondary training.  TG Ky has spent many hours working with the ATC to identify what is best needed for training along with several other industries in Marion County.  A special thanks to Jason Thomas and Dennis Brown of TG Ky for assisting the ATC and Marion County Public Schools in helping better prepare students for the workforce.  Attached are pictures of the new equipment.  In addition to TG Ky assisting with the project, there were many companies who donated their time to set up the new machine.  Foley Machinery Movers donated time to move and set up machine, Integrated Electric will be donating time to wire the machine, and INS Mechanical will also be donating time for set up.

There will be many more pieces of new equipment arriving throughout the summer months.  A reception is being planned for late summer, so the community can see the upgrades to the MCATC Industrial Maintenance program.
